Isometric Ankle Inversion

Additional info

What?

This exercise helps improve the strength into ankle inversion which can become weak after an injury. It also helps re structure scar tissue.

Why?

This exercise can also be very useful for injuries that affect the medial (inside) area of the ankle, especially ligament strains. Isometric movements are a gentle way to load soft tissue which helps with the healing process without aggravating an injury.

This exercise can also be very useful for reducing pain by utilising the analgesic (pain relieving) effect of isometric exercise.

How?

By maintaining the isometric muscle contraction, the muscles will gain strength in a neutral position ensuring not to aggravate any pain.

Success Criteria

You can track your progress by assessing pain levels.
