Sports Therapy

Kassia took me through a plan of action once she listen to my problems and made me feel at ease. I had a great sports massage that released a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders. I couldn’t believe how different I felt after.

Kassia aim’s to combine the following techniques, and an advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology, to influence specific bodily structures. This can reduce pain, restore functional movement, encourage recovery from injury and increases the body’s overall fluidity and ease of movement.

Level 4 Diploma in Holistic Massage

Kassia believes that holistic massage is an extremely important part of treatment. When we relax we access the parasympathetic nervous system, also known as the ‘rest and digest system’. This puts the body in an optimum position for muscular recovery. If that wasn’t enough of a motivation to have a holistic massage here are some other great benefits: reduces stress, relaxes muscles by reduces ‘nervous tension’ and improves circulation.

Level 5 Diploma in Sports & Remedial Massage

Whether you are suffering from chronic pain or have recently been injured, most musculoskeletal problems tend to result from:

  • Poor prolonged posture
  • Faulty body mechanics
  • Stressful living and poor working habits
  • Loss of strength and flexibility

These factors can all have a major influence on the physical state of our soft tissues, particularly in relation to activity. Kassia will use a range of techniques including deep tissue massage, active release and passive mobilisation to balance out the muscular system. You will be given exercises to incorporate in to your day, this will help ensure long term benefits from your massage.

Medical Acupuncture

Medical Acupuncture involves inserting fine needles in to muscular tissue for a therapeutic effect. Overall, it is an adaptation of the Chinese method, but using modern in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology.  The effect of this is very similar to some deep tissue massage techniques but can be quicker and more specific.  Studies show that acupuncture increases the release of endogenous opioids, a system shown to be an innate pain-relief system. Although some people worry about having acupuncture, Kassia creates a very safe environment and will only ever use them with your consent.
