Kassia Portas is committed to protecting the information about you that we collect, store, and use when you provide it through the website. We uphold your rights to privacy in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).  We are compliant with its requirements in respect of the collection, management, and disclosure of your personal information. If you do not wish to provide personal information to us, then you do not have to do so.  However, this will affect your use of the website for any products and services offered on it.

Kassia Portas may collect the following personal information from you:

  4. When you ask to be placed on one of our subscription/mailing lists; or

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised information gathered from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Your personal information is kept (if on paper) via a locked cabinet. If your personal information is kept online, it will be securely via those listed below.

As our website is linked to the Internet, and the Internet is inherently insecure, we cannot provide any assurance regarding the security of transmission of information you communicate to us online.  We also cannot guarantee that the information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted over the Internet. Accordingly, any personal information or other information which you transmit to us online is transmitted at your own risk.

We may send you direct marketing communications and information about our services that we consider may be of interest to you.  These communications may be sent in various forms, including mail, email, Facebook messenger, SMS, Whatsapp. At any time you may opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us by contacting us (see the details below) or by using opt-out facilities provided in the marketing communications and we will then ensure that your name is removed from our subscription/mailing list.

Our employees and the contractors who provide services related to our information systems are obliged to respect the confidentiality of any personal information held by us. We may hold your information in either electronic or hard copy form.  Personal information is destroyed or de-identified when no longer needed or when we are no longer required by Law to retain it (whichever is the later).

Who we need to share your data with

We use Stripe to take payments and run your membership to the PDT Virtual Clinic, see Stripes Privacy information. Card payment details are not stored on this website, they are only stored within the secure Stripe system.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in your profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
